What Are You Recommending, Katharine Weber?

by admin | Feb-17-2008

NBCC members and finalists and winners of our book award were eligible to vote in the winter edition of the NBCC’s Good Reads. Critic and novelist Katharine Weber voted for Pat Barker’s LIFE CLASS, which landed on the fiction long-list. Here she explains why:

Pat Barker is an extraordinary and under-appreciated (in the U.S.) novelist. Subsequent novels have not until now hit the magnificent standard she set with her Regeneration Trilogy. With LIFE CLASS she has at last succeeded in matching that nuance and sensibility.

Katharine Weber is the author of the novels Objects in Mirror Are Closer Than They Appear, The Music Lesson, The Little Women, and Triangle.
