NBCC Member News: Randy Gener Hosts Samuel L. Jackson, David Henry Hwang, & More

NBCC member Randy Gener moderates a panel at a salon event tomorrow, November 3, 4:30-6:30 pm in New York City at New Dramatists (424 West 44th Street) to celebrate the publication of Carson Kreitzer's Self Defense and Other Plays and Chiori Miyagawa's upcoming collection America Dreaming and Other Plays and other books from No Passport Press. Panelists: Susana Cook, Kia Corthron, Migdalia Cruz, Christine Evans, Linda Faigo-Hall, Catherine Filloux, David Greenspan, Carson Kreitzer, Mathew Maguire, Chiori Miyagawa, Saviana Stanescu, and Caridad Svich. Gener is in Washington, D.C. on November 7 to represent the U.S. media in the first German and American Media Dialogue, organized by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany. Peter Kümmel, theater critic for the newspaper Die Zeit, and Peter Michalzik, journalist and theater critic for the newspaper Frankfurter Rundschau, will represent Germany. The dialogue will address current trends in contemporary theater in the U.S. and Germany, and is part of Zeitgeist DC Contemporary Literature Series, a program dedicated to fostering cross-cultural experiences.The Media Dialogue  takes place at Goethe-Institut Washington (818 7th Street NW;  Metro: Gallery Place/Chinatown) on Monday November 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. RSVP to 202-289-1200 ext. 162, or rsvp@washington.goethe.org.

On Sunday, November 13, 6:30 pm, Gener will moderate a panel, "Anatomy of a Breakout," including playwrights David Henry Hwang and David Ives, director Kenny Leon, and actors Samuel L.
