SAVE THE DATE: NBCC Awards Season! Finalists Reading, Awards Ceremony, After-party

by Jane Ciabattari | Jan-11-2018

Remember last year's awards ceremony, when we honored eight masterful writers? (Above, in John Midgley's photo.) It's awards season again. Time to celebrate great writers! The NBCC John Leonard committee will complete voting for the best first book in any genre on January 17, 2018. The NBCC board will meet on January 20, 2018, to vote on awards finalists in six categories, plus the Sandrof and Balakian awards. All finalists, Sandrof, Balakian and Leonard award winners will be announced January 22. Please add to your calendar these NBCC awards events, hosted by New School's Creative Writing Department Head Luis Jaramillo and NBCC President Kate Tuttle. The finalists' reading and awards ceremony are  free and open to the public. Tickets to the benefit after-party are $75, and may be purchased here. (NBCC members may purchase tickets in advance for $50.)
