The Three Rules of the Best Recommended

by John Freeman | Nov-27-2007

The rules for voting in the Best Recommend List were pretty simple, but important nonetheless. (1) It felt important to limit the recommendations to 2007 and early 2008 titles (with a little backwash into 2006 if totally necessary), because otherwise we'd have no consensus. (2) We told voters they could vote for just one book per category. That way everyone's vote counts equally. (3) Your vote can be anonymous, if you so choose.
