The Next Decade in Book Culture

by Eric Banks | Mar-23-2010

At the annual meeting of the NBCC on March 11, board members Mark Athitakis (Washington, DC–based editor of the blog American Fiction Notes), Colette Bancroft (books editor of the St. Petersburg Times), Mary Ann Gwinn (books editor at the Seattle Times), Scott McLemee (Washington, DC–based critic and columnist at Inside Higher Ed), and former NBCC president Elizabeth Taylor (books editor at the Chicago Tribune) convened a panel titled "The Next Decade in Book Culture." Moderating is NBCC president Jane Ciabattari. Here they offer their perspectives on the changes, challenges, and opportunities facing us in the 2010s.
