Video: NBCC 2011 Finalists Annoucements at Artists Space, NYC

This video, taken earlier tonight at Artists Space in New York, NY, shows the NBCC 2011 Awards finalists announced in six categories, by 2010 NBCC winners and finalists Darin Strauss (Half a Life), Kathleen Graber (The Eternal City), Siddhartha Mukherjee (The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer), Yunte Huang (Charlie Chan, The Untold Story of the Honorable Detective and His Rendezvous with American History), Elif Batuman (The Possessed: Adventures with Russian Books and the People Who Read Them), and Jennifer Egan (A Visit from the Goon Squad).

First, NBCC President Eric Banks introduced board member Steven G. Kellman to announce the winner of the Ivan Sandrof Lifetime Achievement Award, which goes this year to Robert Silvers, and 2010 Balakian recipient Parul Sehgal announced the 2011 Nona Balakian Citation for Excellence in Reviewing, Kathryn Schulz.
