Past champions Martha Southgate and Brigid Hughes square off against critics Eric Banks, David Haglund and Steve Kellman, with Brooklyn Rail's John Reed emcee. (The quiz is based on quotations from NBCC award winners and finalists in fiction over the past 36 years).

Mingle at parties and literary events, participate in awards decisions, maybe even run for the board, nominate yourself for a Balakian or nominate someone for the lifetime achievement award, recently won by Joyce Carol Oates, PEN American Center, Bill Henderson of Pushcart Press.
