This fall, eight seats will be up for grabs on the board of the National Book Critics Circle. While the board's main efforts revolve around the selection of the books honored at our annual awards ceremony, other duties demand a great deal of attention, including: organizing the awards ceremony, recruiting new members and serving existing ones, contributing to the NBCC blog, and producing the NBCC's programs and its newsletter. Fortunately, all this hard work is tremendously rewarding. Each term lasts three years: this round's from March 2011 to March 2014.
