The National Book Critics Circle invites you to join us on January 21 at Artists Space in New York for the announcement of the 2011 NBCC finalists in fiction, nonfiction, biography, autobiography, criticism, and poetry, as well as the recipients of the Nona A. Balakian Citaion for Excellence in Reviewing and the Ivan Sandrof Lifetime Achievement Award. Special guests announcing the 2011 finalists are:
Fiction: Jennifer Egan, 2010 NBCC awardee and Pulitzer Prize winner for A Visit from the Goon Squad
Nonfiction: Siddhartha Mukherjee, 2010 NBCC finalist and Pulitzer Prize winner for Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer
Biography: Yunte Huang, 2010 NBCC finalist for Charlie Chan: The Untold Story of the Honorable Detective and His Rendezvous with American History
Autobiography: Darin Strauss, 2010 NBCC awardee for Half a Life
Criticism: Elif Batuman, 2010 NBCC finalist for The Possessed: Adventures with Russian Books and the People Who Read Them
Poetry: Kathleen Graber, 2010 NBCC finalist for The Eternal City
