The month of June kicks off Reading the World. As part of this project, the NBCC has asked writers from around the globe to recommend a book from beyond these shores. We asked Alain de Botton, author of “The Architecture of Happiness,” what he had to recommend. He came back with this recommendation for former NBCC finalist Geoff Dyer's “The Ongoing Moment.” nbsp;
“I've much enjoyed Geoff Dyer's book, The Ongoing Moment. It's a look at photography which isn't either a history or a piece of theory, but an essayistic, meandering tour through the subject of why certain photographs affect us. You can't quite look at photos in the same way again after a read.”
